Two kinds of data
Data about you, our customer: the name, phone number and email of the ISP owner and the staff accounts created under them, your company details, your bank account for settlement, and your billing history with us.
Data about your subscribers, which we hold on your behalf: names, phone numbers, addresses, PPPoE usernames, packages, bills, payments and connection status. You decide what goes in; we process it so that OptiNet can bill and reconnect. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for anything except running the service for you.
What we collect automatically
Login times and the device used, so an account can be secured. Page views on your public payment portal, so you can see whether customers are reaching it. Basic server logs, kept for troubleshooting.
The dashboard uses a cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your language. The public payment portal does not track visitors beyond counting page views.
Credentials and encryption
Router, OLT and payment gateway credentials are encrypted at rest. Bank account numbers are encrypted too, and only the last four digits are ever returned by the API — nobody, including us, reads a full account number from the dashboard.
Traffic between your browser and OptiNet is encrypted in transit.
Who else sees it
Payment gateways, when a payment is made — bKash, Nagad, Rocket or a card processor receives what it needs to take that payment. SMS and email providers, to deliver one-time login codes and bill notices. Our hosting provider, which stores the database.
We disclose data to a government authority only where the law requires it. We do not share subscriber data with other ISPs on the platform; each ISP's data is isolated at the database level.
How long we keep it
Billing records are kept for as long as the law requires them for accounting. Subscribers you delete are archived rather than erased, so that last year's revenue still adds up; you can ask us to erase an archived subscriber entirely.
When you close your account we keep the data for 90 days so it can be restored if you return, then delete it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of this you can do yourself from the dashboard; for anything else write to hello@optinet.bd.
If one of your subscribers asks you to delete their data, you can do that from the Subscribers page, and you can ask us for help where records are tied to old bills.
